Anger Management

Anger is a natural emotional state that we all experience in response to a wide variety of situations: you may be angry in the moment - at being stuck in traffic on your way to work, at your spouse for misunderstanding your needs. Or you may still feel angry in response to old wounds - at your former best friend for betraying your confidence years ago, at a parent for not respecting your privacy.

Appropriately expressed anger can be a way to clear the air, to positively vent feelings and open the door to two-way communication that resolves issues. But uncontrolled rage as an anger response is frightening and destructive - to the person who feels angry as well as to the person on the receiving end of your anger.

If you have trouble controlling how you express your anger, chances are good that you already know it. People may say you have a short fuse, or call you a hothead, or tell you that your anger frightens them. Your uncontrolled explosions of rage probably frighten you too, leaving you spent and exhausted.

If you are ready to learn to express your anger in more appropriate ways, anger management therapy can help you learn new skills and new ways of thinking that can help you cope with you anger in constructive ways that help you build relationships.
